Cricketer David Warner and glamorous wife Candice are all smiles at the MCG

His recent thumb injury put a dampener on his festive season preparations.

But on Christmas Day, cricket star David Warner, 32, and his wife Candice, 33, were all smiles as they attended a family-friendly training day for the Boxing Day test at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Batsman David, who has been cleared to play in tomorrow’s match despite his injury, looked to be in good spirits as he clutched his six-month-old baby daughter Isla on the cricket pitch.

The couple share three children including two other girls: Ivy Mae, 5, Indi Rae, 3.

The former team captain wore his cricket uniform and was seen chatting to other members of the Australian cricket team and their families.

Meanwhile, Candice kept her look casual, wearing a loose-fitting Dolce and Gabbana white T-shirt and denim shorts.

Candice finished her look with a pair of black cat-eye sunglasses and allowed her blonde mane to fall loosely in waves by her shoulders.

It comes as David was confirmed as playing in the test match, after he was struck on the thumb during a training session on Monday.

Coach Justin Langer later confirmed to ABC News he would play in the match against New Zealand.

‘He’s fine,’ Australia coach Langer insisted.

‘There was a little concern for about two seconds and then he saw the doctor and he’s hitting balls again.

‘We know how well he’s playing at the moment, we know how much all the boys love playing Test cricket and Boxing Day cricket … so he’ll be ready to go.’

Also at the family day was Tim Paine and his glamorous wife Bonnie.

Bonnie Paine looked festive in a canary yellow frock and sunglasses, while opting to go barefoot.

Throughout 2019, the couple’s personal and professional lives have gone from strength to strength.

In March, David returned to the Australian cricket team alongside Steve Smith, after the pair were given a 12-month ban for their involvement in the Cape Town ball tampering scandal in 2018.

‘I was always coming back to international cricket if selected. The thing that kept me going was my wife and my kids. [I’ve] got great support at home,’ said David in June.

‘My kids and my wife is just, she’s just my rock. She’s unbelievable. She’s determined, disciplined, selfless.’

On November 30, David scored his highest ever individual Test score of 335 not out against Pakistan.

In June, Candice gave birth to their third daughter, Isla Rose Warner, in London.

‘Our little family is now complete. Ivy and Indi are so proud of their sister. @davidwarner31 Your support was and is amazing. Isla we love you,’ gushed Candice to Instagram after Isla’s safe arrival on June 30.

Months before giving birth, David revealed that Candice suffered two miscarriages during the fall-out of his ball tampering scandal in 2018.

‘The miscarriage was a tragic consequence, a heartbreaking end to a horror tour. Like so many families who’ve experienced a miscarriage, it’s just really sad,’ Candice previously told The Australian Women’s Weekly.

‘The entire ordeal from the public humiliations to the ball tampering, it had taken its toll and, from that moment, we decided that no sport, nothing will ever impact our lives like that again.’
